OUR CLASSES

We base our teaching method on Montessori principles, while immersing our learners in their target languages. We take pride in facilitating classes that are fun and produce results for our kids. We utilize games, manipulative objects, and self-directed activities to encourage speaking in a challenging and engaging way. We design our own materials to uniquely support our learners’ acquisition of a variety of vocabulary themes and key grammatical concepts. Our pedagogy resonates with children of varying ages and levels of comprehension because we empower them to explore units that fit their skill set and take ownership of their path to fluency.

IN-HOUSE

Our in-house classes serve a wide range of ages through varying classroom settings. We offer group lessons for toddlers (18 months+) and parents, Pre-Kers, kindergarteners-2nd graders, and 3rd-6th graders.

Toddler classes focus on supporting learners’ growth in their target language by linking it to their general motor skill development. We devote class time to songs and interactive activities that afford youngsters a firm grasp of colors, shapes, numbers, and other foundational themes. During these lessons, children and parents learn through completing puzzles, playing with shape droppers, and mastering other manipulative objects.

In our Pre-K classes, learners fine tune their motor skills and begin exploring more complex vocabulary themes. We challenge this age group to start expressing feelings, preferences, and desires through basic first person phrases. Before learning how to read and write in English, our learners gain, among other skills, the capacity to explain what they have and don’t have, like and dislike, and want in their target language.

As our learners grow into K-2 and 3-6 classes, we expand classroom dialogues to include target language discussions in second and third person. Our kids learn to read and write through translating and sentence-building exercises tailored to their capabilities. We supplement independent growth in these areas with interactive games, role-playing activities, and skit writing and performing. Upon graduating from a 3-6 class, our learners are confident, talkative and well-versed in an extensive variety of practical vocabulary themes; those who began studying their target language with us as toddlers enter secondary schools prepared to master advanced language classes, and inspired to continue working towards fluency.

Apart from group classes, we also offer private lessons to families, individuals, and small groups.

OFF-SITE

Our Off Site classes reach students in Pre-K through 6th grade at a variety of public and private schools, and other learning institutions. These include the following:

Pre-K classes support our learners’ mastery of motor skills, while immersing them in their target language. Upon developing a firm understanding of colors, shapes, and numbers, our youngsters begin exploring more complex vocabulary themes, including house animals, fruits & vegetables, and people in the community. We challenge this age level to start expressing feelings, preferences, and desires through basic first person phrases. Before learning how to read and write in English, our learners gain, among other skills, the capacity to explain what they have and don’t have, like and dislike, want and don’t want in their target language.

Our K-2 and 3-6 Off Site classes meet the challenge of fostering the multilingualism of learners who have had diverse experiences with a second language. Our instructors structure class time to encourage children who have no prior practice speaking their target language, while continuing to challenge and inspire those who are eager to expand their speaking, reading, and writing abilities. Class lessons facilitate dialogue in second and third person and bolster reading and writing skills through translating and sentence-building exercises tailored to each child’s capabilities.

We additionally offer in-home lessons for learners who are unable to make the commute. Please contact us for more information on in-home lessons.

CAMPS

Throughout the school year we offer half- and full-day immersion camps for Pre-Kers, kindergarteners-2nd graders, and 3rd-6th graders. These fun and intensive learning experiences provide our learners the opportunity to bolster their speaking, reading, and writing capabilities during break periods when they tend to forget the lessons they have learned from offsite classes. Camps also serve as an occasion to develop second language skills through dynamic activities—cooking lessons, all-class art projects, and larger theater productions—that are not possible during shorter private or group lessons. Most importantly, they constantly challenge youngsters to hone their abilities in an immersive learning environment as instructors guide them through the following daily schedule:

7:30am – 9:30am Before-class Care
9:30am – 10:45am Class 1
10:45am – 11:30am Snack/Free Time
11:30am – 12:30pm Class 2
12:30pm – 1:30pm Lunch/Free Time
1:30pm – 2:00pm Park/Rest Time
2:00pm – 3:00pm Class 3
3:00pm – 5:00pm After-class Care

Whether working with Pre-Kers or older campers, our instructors pride themselves in imparting as much as one year’s worth of second language learning during these camps.

Pre-K campers master motor skills while honing a firm understanding of colors, shapes, and numbers in their target language. They begin exploring more complex vocabulary themes, including house animals, body parts, and people & places in the community. We challenge this age level to start expressing feelings, preferences, and desires through basic first person phrases. Before learning how to read and write in English, our learners gain, among other skills, the capacity to explain what they have and don’t have, like and dislike, want and don’t want—all in their target language.

The achievements of our K-2 and 3-6 campers are equally impressive. Our camps rise to the challenge of fostering the multilingualism of learners who have had diverse experiences with a second language. Instructors encourage children who have no prior practice speaking their target language, while challenging those with more advanced backgrounds to expand their speaking, reading, and writing abilities. Throughout camp, our learners engage in discussions both inside and outside of class and develop reading and writing skills through translating and sentence-building exercises tailored to their individual capabilities. We supplement independent growth in these areas with interactive games, role-playing activities, and skit writing and performing. Upon graduating from a 3-6 camp, our learners are confident, talkative and well-versed in an extensive variety of practical vocabulary themes; those who began studying their target language with us as toddlers enter secondary schools prepared to master advanced language classes, and inspired to continue working towards fluency.
